Lecture PowerPoints

These visually dynamic PowerPoints are designed to bring the core topics from Discover Biology to the classroom in a clear and engaging way. Each deck is written by book author Anu Singh-Cundy, and integrates important figures from the text, animations on essential processes, learning objectives, key terms, and end-of-chapter assessment questions.

A note from the author to instructors about the Lecture PowerPoint slides: Section titles and subtitles from each chapter are included in these Lecture Powerpoint slides, along with the List of Keywords. If you post Lecture PowerPoints for your students, you can customize depth of coverage from each chapter by striking out titles and/or subtitles that you don't wish to assign and keywords that your students will not be responsible for on tests. Alternatively, you can cut and paste section titles and/or subtitles into your syllabus to indicate assigned portions of the chapter.

Test Bank

The Discover Biology Test Bank is based on an evidence-centered design that was collaboratively developed by some of the brightest minds in educational testing, including leading academic researchers and advisers with the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The result is an assessment resource that defines expected student competencies, evenly distributes concepts and topics, and ensures specific links to topics. Each chapter of the Test Bank is structured around the Learning Objectives from the textbook and conforms to Bloom’s taxonomy, and questions are further classified by section and difficulty, and they are provided in multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and short answer form.
