How are Norton ebooks delivered to my computer?
All Norton ebooks can be accessed directly through this web site in a convenient online format that you can view right in your web browser. Many titles are also available in a downloadable version that opens in a separate reader. Click here to see which version is right for you.
Will I be able to highlight, make annotations, and print?
Both ebook versions allow unlimited highlighting, unlimited annotations and printing with certain restrictions (see below). Click here for a full list of capabilities.
Are there printing restrictions?
Yes. Both types of ebooks allow you to print as many pages as the book has, plus half that amount again, but no more than that. For example, if a book has 100 pages you can print 150 times. You can print any page any number of times but each piece of paper that comes out of the printer counts against the total allowed number. Printed pages for either type of ebook are set at a maximum resolution of 150 DPI.
Due to technical limitations printing restrictions of 20 pages per session are in place for Norton Online Ebooks.
Why don't the correct pages print out of my downloadable ebook?
When printing a range of pages, rather than just the page you are currenly viewing, you must refer to the page numbers of the document rather than the page numbers of the book. To correctly print a range of pages first find your desired starting page and note the page number of the document, displayed in the menu bar of the program as xx/yyy. Then locate the last page you want to print and note the document number. Use these numbers as the beginning and end of the range you wish to print.

My downloadable ebook didn't download properly, or my download got interrupted. How can I re-download the title?
First, please confirm that you are using the most up-to-date version of Adobe Digital Editions. (Note that this is not the same as the Adobe Acrobat program you may have installed to read PDF files.) If you have ADE installed, open it and the download should continue. If you have problems please contact us through the Help Desk.

Click here for in-depth instructions on how to use the toolbar.
Why are there letters next to the page numbers in my online ebook?
Some Norton ebooks (for example, Comparative Politics) feature two or more titles that are bundled together in one ebook. In these cases, a letter prefixed to the page number will indicate which volume you are currently reading (for example, in Comparative Politics, a "C" denotes the Cases volume, and an "E" denotes Essentials of Comparative Politics.
When closing my online ebook, how can I make sure that my annotations are saved for my next session?
|When leaving the ebook, your annotations will automatically be saved as long as you close the window using the close button in the upper-right corner of the ebook toolbar:
Keep in mind, too, that your changes will automatically be saved every time you advance a page in the ebook reader. When in doubt, you can always click the "Save" icon in the ebook toolbar at the end of your session.
How are annotations (notes and highlights) shared?
|To follow an instructor's annotations, click on the Annotation Manager button in the toolbar, then on the "Instructor's Notes?" button, and finally enter your instructor's email address. If your instructor has signed up for Shared Annotations, then "No Class" will be replaced with your class name in the Annotations Manager Panel and the Notes and Highlights dropdown menus will now include notes and highlights your instructor has shared. You can group, print, and hide shared annotations.
